I guess you got what you wanted
You called me a bitch in the street
And well I guess I might have deserved it
But I'm getting back on my feet and I am
Complicated at best
I'm a live wire attached to your chest
and I'm growing and learning the lay of your land
I feel like I'm unimportant
When you call up and change the plan
Waiting til the very last minute
To say I'm in love with someone who is
Complicated at best
You're a live wire attached to my chest
and you're growing and learning the lay of my land
I've got something to say
And it's been on my mind quite a while
I don't know when I last heard you laughing
And I can't remember your smile cos we are
Complicated at best
We are live wires igniting the nest
And I just want to lay in the basement alone
Yeah we are complicated at best
We are live wires igniting the nest
And I just want to lay in the basement alone
lay in the basement alone
lay in the basement alone

Well, does it live up to the hype? It's okay, not as good as 'Loops' or the 'Fenella' stuff; i doubt i'll be listening to it in full very often.
Her mojo is waneing in my 'umble opinion. vykr

The great underlying instrumentation paired with Florence's droll stream of consciousness lyrics make this album stand out. It feels so personal and confessional. Favorite tracks are Strong Feelings and Leafy. I've heard Scratchard Lanyard on alt radio and love that one as well. tofupotpie
Post-punk in the Sonic Youth mold—melody covered by creeping fuzz, anchored by architectural rhythms, with lyrics both abstract and direct. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 5, 2019
